Connect your Meta account

Connecting Meta is what turns AdLift from a research tool into a full command centre for your ads. Once it is linked, your real performance data flows in, and on the higher plans you can launch and manage campaigns without ever leaving the app.

Connecting during onboarding

The easiest moment to connect is right at the start. Near the end of onboarding there is a Connect step: click it, sign in to Facebook, approve the permissions, and choose your ad accounts. If you do it here, you are all set and can skip the next section.

If you skipped it during onboarding

Plenty of people move past that step, and that is completely fine. You can connect at any point afterwards.

• If you are the workspace owner or an admin, open Settings, go to Workspaces, then Integrations, and click Connect Meta.
• Until Meta is connected, the Home screen also shows a reminder that takes you straight to the same place, so you do not have to go looking for it.
• If you are a member rather than an admin, connecting is not available to you, because it affects the whole workspace. Ask one of your admins to connect it, and the data is shared with everyone once they do.

The permissions we ask for

However you start, Facebook will show you a list of permissions before you approve. AdLift asks to read your ads and their results, manage campaigns where you enable it, see your Pages, and read basic engagement. In Meta's own terms that is ads_read, ads_management, business_management, pages_show_list and pages_read_engagement, plus your public profile.

We only ever use these to do the things you ask for inside AdLift. Your access token is encrypted before it is stored, and you can disconnect at any time.

Meta access tokens expire on Meta's own schedule. If you ever see a "Needs reconnect" badge, nothing is wrong with your account. You sign in again and everything picks up where it left off.
